I feel guilty for leaving my cat every time I go out of town. It doesn't help that he's always pissed off at me when I come back.

But when you come back they're so stoked to see you!

My first year at university was last year and even though I came back home pretty much every weekend, I think all of my dogs forgot that I'd only been gone for four days and they all went batshit every time anyway.

It was really sweet.

Oh God, I know your heartbreak, anon. I can't even stand to watch this episode anymore because I know by the end I'm not going to be able to escape bawling like a baby. ;A;

But he waited for Fry because he loved him, and if he HAD showed up, it would have made it all better. And if you know that you would do everything in your power to make it back to your dog, you don't have to feel guilty. Your dog would just be happy to see you. C:

...but yeah that episode is awful.

Have you ever thought about boarding your dog while you're on vacation? That way he'll at least get some social interaction, and it's a distraction so he won't be as lonely. Unless the boarding options near you are shit and he'd be better off just hanging out at home.

The only reason we leave our cats here when we're gone is because there are two of them so hopefully it's not as lonesome.

Aw, don't worry too much, OP. The point was that Fry disappearing happened in a way that was out of his control. He was gone, but his dog still loved and missed him anyway. Yours will too, and he/she'll be happy when you get back from vacation! :)

I will never watch that episode again. I don't want my funny cartoons to make me weep like a baby.

Also? One of the movies they made after cancellation totally retconned that scene!

You're not alone, everyone cried at that :-(

I was just thinking about and choking up over this episode today. I hate leaving my dog for even a few hours, and like to try and plan vacations I can take with her--which is very hard. I know it's a dog's life, that I have to do it, and she'll be fine, but...but that face! And that episode does not help.

I cried like a baby. The next day I told my husband about it and broke down in sobs and couldn't finish. We have three dogs. I always rearrange my life around them. I sold my business to stay home and take care of them. But they are huge dogs and need someone home with them.

I understand exactly how you feel, though. You have to have a life outside your dogs. If you can't take them on vacation with you, just call them everyday and have a good time. LOL!

That episode and Luck of the Fryish made me cry like a baby

I feel bad whenever I leave my dog to go to my dads, I even feel bad for leaving him when I go to school. I'm a 15 year old girl who lives with her mum. I just feel bad whenever I have to leave my dog no matter how long it is. I love him so much. (:

Why is this a secret? That episode is a notorious tear-jerker and even super macho men who are insecure about their masculinity publicly admit to crying for that episode. It'd be more of a secret if you DIDN'T cry when you watched the episode

I don't go away on vacation for this reason. I just take time off and spend all day at home with my fur babies.

Augh, this shit hits close to home. I just had to leave my old dog at home while I went to school for my senior year, and after I graduate, I plan on moving away, and I doubt he could make the trip. I love that little fucker. It's hard because I feel like our time's limited. Anyway, that episode is something I have to avoid because it really hits home for anyone who's a great relationship with a truly awesome pet.

I bawled so hard when I saw that scene. I was like WTF, self, it is a f****** cartoon dog. Also, I felt much better after I saw the movie where he was with the time-travelling Fry all the time. It made me happy.

Oh God OP, me freaking too! I cried and cried like a little girl when I saw that. Killed me! In fact, I'm getting a little teary now just thinking about it. Broke my heart.
