I'm so sick of the Kanye-hating trend. And I don't even like his music. Yeah, he has a huge ego and is kind of a douche but most of the time we seem to embrace people like that. But because Kanye pulled the whole Taylor Swift stunt (and I thought he was a dick for that too) everyone hates him.

I love Kanye and all the stupid shit he does. He's just a well paid troll, and that makes me lol.
And his music's pretty fantastic, too.

I have definitely gained a new appreciation for him. I was not even close to upset about the VMA/Taylor Swift debacle. Was it bad form for him? Yeah. But was it surprising? No. And was he wrong? No, there's no way that Taylor Swift's video was better than Beyonce's "Single Ladies" video, which spawned how many copy-cats? I feel like our outrage against him tiptoed into some ridiculous territory. And what if he'd interrupted the Jonas Brothers or Lil Wayne? I don't think we'd care as much; but since it was a poor little white girl, we all freaked out. I said all along it'd just end up helping her career, and it has. All the while, we treated him almost as bad as we did Chris Brown, who, frankly, deserved our ire much more.

And he's clearly been inspired by the fall-out, because "Power" is an incredibly angry and introspective song, and a great response to the whole fiasco.
