It could always be worse, dude. ALWAYS. NO EXCEPTIONS. But strangely enough, periods have a longer history of creeping me out than people's fetishes do.

She could be telling us she gets off to imagining little children being molested and then raped by tentacles and I'd be like, "kay". Periods are just gross to me, possibly because I find them to be particularly displeasing, personally.

Every time I have my period I am very relieved, because I am actually really afraid of being pregnant (I don't know, it scares me almost more than anything else D:). So I'm kind of glad for it. XD But I can totally understand what you mean, they really aren't nice. :/

Ever hear of birth control, morning after pill, and abortion? Or are you the type just randomly afraid of immaculate conception? 'Cause abortion will work on that too.

Of course I use birth control, I'm not that irresponsible. It is an irrational fear, like how most people are afraid walking at night in a cemetery... you know that ghosts and zombies are not real, but still... what if? I know it is stupid, I can't help it. :/

And it is better not being pregnant at all than being pregnant and then getting an abortion.

How the fuck does menstruation creep you out?

I unno, just always has. It smells like death, there is a lot of blood and I just find the idea that my body is bleeding that much without loosing a limb or something to be kinda freaky.
Then again, I've never been comfortable with most aspects of being a chick anyway.

It's mostly not blood, which is why it looks different from regular-old blood.

mte. I fucking hate the "wow you must be pmsing!" comments people shoot towards women to devalue their emotions.

Explain how a comment like my initial one has anything to do with perpetuating a stereotype. Not that I give much of a fuck at this point, but I think you might have meant that the secret is perpetuating it, because if there is some kind of mystical subliminal message in what I said, then IDEFK.

I find the period-blood supernatural secret beneath this one strangely appropriate.

I would love to know all the different fandom-related ways people know they're PMSing (preferably anonymously, because it might seem a bit TMI otherwise). It's so awesome to see how unique and varied everyone can be.

I start thinking fics that I would normally think were good are shitty, because of very petty things.

I write more about women dominating or controlling men.

I get incredibly insecure about my writing, to the point where I will sometimes cry about it.

It isn't fandom related, but I know I am right now because I was reading something about quantum physics earlier tonight and started crying over how ~beautiful~ it is. I love science, but only just before I get my period do I love it that much.

I cry a lot. To strangers. About things like the way my egg yolk didn't come out perfectly that morning.

I get really emotional over movies that aren't really vaguely sad. I cried pretty much the entire way through Kung Fu Panda when I was PMSing just because it was ~so beautiful~.

I also write angsty fic and then cry over it while I'm writing it. >.>;;

Last month I told my roommate's kid that I was going to 'end her' if she bumped into me again while I was trying to play a video game.

Then again, it was the eleventh time she knocked me because she kept jumping on the couch next to where I was sitting. And I was a lot calmer about it the previous ten times I told her to stop. So I dunno how much of that was PMS and how much was genuine natrual temper loss.

*shrug* I know I'm PMSing because I become dangerously obsessed with my fandom of the moment, like, withdraw and don't talk to anyone and just want to read fic for days, obsessed. IDEK.

Don't worry about being stereotypical, when a stereotype has a physiological basis. You're not saying ALL FEMALES do/are something, nor are you suggesting anyone should be treated differently. You're just noticing cyclical hormonal changes in your own body, and how they affect your perception of the world - that's healthy!
