I don't know anything about the old comic, so this could be irrelevant, but I'd like to think that Tessa is taking HINABN a bit more seriously. I mean, she's actually sponsored and published now, and even quit her day job to do HINABN full-time, which definitely takes dedication. And it's a lot for her to deal with, sure, but you can tell she genuinely loves the comic and wants to do her best, so, I dunno. That counts for something. To me, at least.

I think the important thing to remember is that Tessa is only human. She has her good days and bad days, just like the rest of us. She's not a saint, but I think she tries her best, you know? And that's all I can ask of her.

I know shes only human but just because she has good days and bad days dosen't matter. shes getting paid to do a job and shes a professional artist.

You don't hire a plumber who only comes to fix your sink when he isn't feeling depressed so why should an artist act entitled..they are just doing a job. This goes double if she quit her normal job and now has twice as much time. If shes being paid to draw the comic. she needs to post fewer journals and more actual comics.

Is there a regular update schedule?

Actually, as weird as this sounds. No. The idea of a updating schedule sounds kind of blahhhh to me. I hate sitting on strips and at the same time I hate missing days that I officially said would have a strip. So instead, I offer you the promise of “whenever one’s finished”. I know that sounds flaky, but quite honestly I aim for one page a day even though (as you can see) that RARELY happens. It gives me freedom in when to post too, and it encourages me to get as many up as possible. At the very least I try not to go long bouts without updating (meaning longer than four days that feels like an eon to me). I personally want to get these strips out as fast as possible, there’s this HUGE story I want to tell and I can never seem to make my hands work fast enough.




Im pretty understanding of Hiatuses and stuff, but yeah, when you quit your job to make your comic full time and you just kinda....dont. I judge you.

Maaaaan I like HINABN and Tessa's work but that attitude is just... guh. Disappointing. :l
