(Anonymous) 2010-08-24 09:58 pm (UTC)(link)Defs agree with this. I remember an episode a while back where House and Cuddy were going in for a kiss, but he grabbed her boob instead. She got all huffy and told him she expected better of him, and I couldn't help but think, "Really, Cuddy? This is House you're going after. He ain't prime partner material."
At least Wilson seems to get that House is a dick. Cuddy is constantly disappointed with how he acts towards her, as though he hasn't been doing it for 5+ years already.
I think she likes the idea of House; the brilliant, one-of-a-kind lifesaving doctor who wooed her back in college. But she forgets that that brilliance also comes with a large side order of douche.
It will be interesting to see how the writers deal with the House and Cuddy relationship next season, cos I can't see how they're gonna do it without making House horribly OOC.

Yeah, to be honest, this makes me nervous for her. I'm not even opposing this ship simply out of my H/W love, it's largely rooted in worry for Cuddy. Who, yeah, is a fictional character, but still. If she were my friend I'd be saying, "Nuh-uh, girlfriend, find someone better."
I agree with you - I think she definitely enjoys the idea of House, not so much the reality. That much is obvious when she is exasperated when he... acts like himself. It's not that I think poor, fragile Cuddy can't take care of herself and that Wilson deserves to be with a douchebag, I just know there is a difference between liking the idea of someone and liking their actual selves. Even when Wilson is annoyed by the crap House puts him through, he does seem to be enjoying it on some level.
It will be interesting to see. I'd stopped watching for... two years? And just now am picking it back up, but dude. I hope the writing stays believable.
