Well the House/Wilson fans are one of the biggest (if not the biggest) groups in the House fandom so you're clearly not alone.

Maybe before season 6 and the H/C subplot, I could have seen it happen. Well, that, and if the show wasn't on the all-conservative Fox.
House's pining for Wilson at the beginning of season 5 was border-lining on Edward Cullen levels of stalking/obsession. The H/W subtext was so blatant, it almost seemed intentional.

The House/Cuddy thing leaves me cold, too. I don't keep expecting them to start making out, but I do think that Wilson would be better equipped to deal with the reality of House than Cuddy would. I can't help but think Cuddy needs someone a little bit more... emotionally available. Plus, no one seems to be able to make House laugh like Wilson can, and vice versa, for whatever that's worth.

But I'm not the writers. :/ *shrug*

God damn this fandom and its insane amount of ship vs ship hatred. Look, OP? Ship what you want to, and don't ever worry about justifying it to anybody. You don't have to.

And I say this, in all sincerity, as someone who personally absolutely cannot stand House/Wilson. (I love them both and like their friendship just the way it is, but that's just, you know, my opinion, man.)

Why can't two male characters just be really good friends? Why does bromance have to equal romance? A guy and a girl being close friends doesn't automatically mean they're screwing each other when nobody's looking either.

Besides, if House ever made out with Wilson, he'd just fuck it up and then he'd really be screwed and alone. Even without romantic subtext, Wilson is the one person that's always able to keep House together, so why risk it? House couldn't maintain a relationship if his life depended on it, and it very well might.

...But assuming that House is heterosexual (we have never been given any evidence to the contrary) and Wilson is heterosexual (we have never been given any evidence to the contrary) then they... can never be in a relationship?

Having a gay relationship is pretty well blocked by not being gay.

Inb4 people saying "THEY COULD BE BI BECAUSE THEY'VE NEVER SAID EXPLICITLY..." which is the same argument that could be used for "Wilson clearly keeps a giant purple unicorn on that balcony thingy because we haven't seen it since S2!"

Huddy makes me want to gouge my eyes out. Not because it's het, not because I hate Cuddy, but because the pairing ruined the characters and the show for me.

I don't want House/Wilson to become canon, I really don't. When something becomes canon it kind of loses the fanfic appeal to me, because there's no guessing, no subtext, fanfic writers are getting somewhat restricted. It's like reading romance fics for a romance show.
If it was Wilson instead of Cuddy in the last episode, I'd be dissapointed all the same (although maybe with a bit of "lolwhatsgoingonhere"). House hooking up with Cuddy doesn't fit me either (goddammit, I know how it'll roll: i'll try to change and be a good man for you and your babby; oops it didn't work out maybe it's because I'VE BEEN LIKE THIS FOR ABOUT 50 YEARS), but oh well.

Sure, men have the bonding friendship type of thing but when House and Wilson move in together, and then pretend to be gay for this one lady. . .It's just there. They would be like the best gay couple on tv. Sadly, I just do not like the show's protrayal of House and Cuddy anyway. I mean, she ends up seeing someone else and he gets all depressed about it. >: HousexWilson ftw. They really need to just date. It'd be cute.
