(Anonymous) 2010-08-25 01:58 am (UTC)(link)Like someone said above, they are supposed to be sexual on a psychosomatic level. It's not obvious at first by their design, but the face huggers and the head design do represent human genitalia, and from what I've been told by a psychology teacher, the fact that they are androgynous and humanoid makes them somewhat appealing on a terrifying level- not to mention their spines/ribs are similar to that of a human's, making them look even more so like a human without the viewer coming to that conclusion.
in other words, they were designed to be sexy, but you can't figure out if you are or not, and you're terrified by the prospects of what you could be feeling. <3
