I thought the transformation music was the same in English and Japanese? Or was that only in the later seasons?

IIRC wasn't the Japanese transformation more 80s disco-ish? While the English version was more *magical fantasy-ish*

It's the same song in each transformation though. At least in the original each transformation had different music, even if it does sound a bit cheesy.

If I remember correctly in Japanese it's something like "tududududududu - Sailor Moon!" in repeat

Later seasons keep the music from the original Japanese (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zAelJ30s-QE), but earlier episodes in the dub have different music:

Having watched that, I gotta say, I'm with the OP, I prefer the Dub music.

After watching this, I must say that I don't agree with the OP one bit. And that I'm happy that the original soundtrack stayed when the show was dubbed into my language.
