I don't get the love for this comic. Yeah, the art is nice, but it's slow moving and the dialogue isn't that compelling. If the fact that ~pretty boys will have sex in this comic!1!~ wasn't advertised so highly before it started, I highly doubt it would have the following that it does.

But srsly, it's baffling. It's a nice comic, and I read the updates every week, but I honestly don't understand how it could inspire this secret, let alone the adoration it does.

I think it's nice that it's slow moving. Some people like to have insight to a character before they jump right into the romance aspect. Even though it is a romantic-centric story, it's always good to set up the story before hand.

Not to mention the comic is supposed to be read in one go, says the author. I'd much rather just wait until the book is out in its entirety.

I myself love the slow pace and the dialogue, and that's what makes the comic enjoyable for me. For me this comic has been a major inspration for a while now: I love the way E.K. takes her time to tell some of the small moments that really do make the biggest difference in life. I'm guessing that this is a matter of taste in comics, because I've always felt most deeply when the author can depict a moment without the need to use text at all, or in minimum amounts. And I think that TJ&A is a good example of this working, the little subtleties.

Saying that, I admit I first got interested in this comic because someone mentioned that there might be gay. But if I'd found this story some other way, and it was written and drawn in the same style as now and instead told a straight romance, I'd love it, and I think it'd still have the same impact in my life as it does now. And to tell you the truth, I wouldn't mind if the sex part was completely left out, I'm actually a bit scared of it turning up when it does, I hope E.K.'ll make it happen as beautifully as everything else thus far.

I understand that if this sort of slow storytelling isn't your thing you might not like it as much, it's not everyone's cup of tea. I'm sure there're some people who follow it because of the gay, but I hope this enlightened the kind of readers like me who do love the other parts even more (even with my clumsy use of English).
