For a long time only the first three volumes were released in English. Then they did a re-release and put out all four volumes. I read all but the final one.

The fact that there is something by Rumiko Takahashi that's only four volumes blows my mind.

Actually, the earlier edition VIZ released was all four volumes too, just in a bigger format (and flipped to be read left to right). You should totally read the fourth volume though, it's my favorite! 'Mermaid's Gaze' is so intensely violent and fucked up, it's so awesome.

The reason it's only four volumes is because it's Takahashi's 'hobby' series (or was 15 years ago, when she was still writing it, anyway). I guess she's only super prolific when there's more money in it. lol.
