idgi. Do you do that when people don't lock their graphics? Or do you just do that with everyone's graphics? And then what do you do with them? Do you like, post them on deviant art under your own name or something, or do you just put them on your photobucket and look at them smugly?

Where's your upside, here? It seems like a lot of effort to not actually prove any kind of point whatsoever.

Um... good for you I guess. Ngl, it irks me sometimes when people link to friends/member-locked entries, but you do seem to be going to an awful lot of trouble if you're saving everything.

I do the same thing. I'm so sick of people doing that. "Oh more graphics here at my community" and you go and then you find out you have to join in order to see what you were just linked to from another community? I hate it sfm. I don't want to have a list of all these g'damn icon communities just to see one single post.

I hate when people make their graphics comms members only. It just stinks of "I'ma force people to join so it looks like I have more faaaans 83" to me. I guess it's their prerogative, but I no longer take icons from locked journals/communities for that reason.

A part of me, as an icon maker and an artist (and yes, I consider them separate), feels like I should be all "You jerk." But to be honest? I fully agree. Not so much the swiping, but the sentiment of how annoying and pretentious it is for icon/wallpaper makers to force people to join their graphics journal just to look at the Photoshopped pretty.

Really, guys? Didn't you make them for everyone to enjoy to begin with? So why can't everyone just come around and be able to see them without the runaround? You do realize anon above is not the only person who does this, so it's not like you can really keep track of who takes what (unless you're super anal, I guess).

Man, I do it too - if they advertise something I like or want on another community. It's like, Ooh come see my stuff! ...and then it's locked. Why would you DO THAT, honestly. It's so aggravating, and happens all the time.

I really hate joining communities because I hate having a cluttered list and uh, if I'm joining something I make sure it's something I'm actually going to check fairly often. So, it makes me mad, and all I'm usually doing is just looking because I'm selective about my icons. It makes me mad because it's like, wow, now I can't even look at these icons without more trouble, and I probably won't take any of them anyway. They're ICONS, ffs, grow up. It just screams "attention whore" to me. "OH LOOK HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE IN MY COMMUNITY I AM SO POPULAR LOL"

I'm an icon maker with my own icon community and I agree. Not so much the grabbing but the fact that those who f-lock their posts kinda had it coming. People join communities because there's something within that community that's worth going back to, it's really pointless to join an icon community just so you can see one locked post of a particular fandom you like.
