I'm a gay guy...and I watch/read whatever the Hell I want. For whatever reasons I want. And I avoid whatever I want to avoid. For whatever reasons I have for that. But really? I could give less than half a S#!^ who the pop-culture (books, movies, TV, musicals, plays, cartoons, art, etc.) I consume is supposedly created "FOR". To be honest, I find most of the things that are supposed to be "FOR" us gay guys...patronizing and STUPID. I'm looking at you BRAVO/LOGO. We don't all give a damn about fashion, reality television, and Kathy Griffin. And guess what? I thought Brokeback Mountain was ridiculous. Your all of a sudden going for Musicals *Gasp*, Wilde *Gasp*, and... *GASP* FOREIGN FILMS!!!, does not make you some Special Progressive-HomoSnowflake.

While most everything has a target audience (or audiences), turning your nose up at the mainstream and going for...cult classics, it seems, doesn't make you any "better" than people who actually do like mainstream stuff. It just kinda makes you a pretentious douchewad.

Also, yeah, most things I've come across that are supposedly targeted at gay audiences just make me uncomfortable. I might even go so far as to say that some of it is even more misinformed than many "straight-targeted" things :/
