Lost wasn't about *answers*, maybe. But I found 'they're all dead' to be a pretty big mindfuck, personally!

They weren't all dead, the church scene was ~island heaven~ that they somehow created for themselves by detonating the hydrogen bomb (yeah idgi either) so that when each individual person died, they would go to island heaven so they could all be together and live happily ever after!

I was referring to when it was revealed that the "sideways universe" was in fact some sort of afterlife. Hence everyone being dead by the point that they were in it. Though the show didn't identify the "afterlife" world by sticking a god on it or anything, it was never said that the bomb created it. I thought it was heavily implied that this was some sort of universal deal.

The hydrogen bomb explosion restored the timeline. Probably by using the electromagnetic burst to compress the tachyons and restore linear flow. Ensign Crusher, warp six, engage.

The island heaven struck me as just a purely mental construct based on how much connection each character had to each other, thus the inclusion of people who couldn't logically have been affected by the bomb, such as Libby, Boone, et al.
