It's more like - you were happy with the finale and all of season six? That's cool, man, that's fine, we take from our entertainment what we want. But I don't feel that it was a science mindfuck that the show needed, it needed a satisfying and complete ending that encapsulated ALL the themes of the show (or at least one other one beyond 'love will keep us together' or some shit).
Instead, come to find out half the season was just some behind the scenes Touched by an Angel shit that itself tossed out most of its global mythology in favor of simple Hallmark pablum and a bunch of "Well, that was... odd" limbo in regards to what actually happened to the characters. It was an extremely bipolar story method and served just to have one final theme of flashback/flashback/flashforward/timeflash/WTFflash. Great, their afterlife was happy. Glad that was fleshed out, considering that very little else was.
