We're all well aware that acupuncture has been used for hundreds of years, but that's not going to cut it. To start, "IT'S BEEN USED FOR SEVERAL CENTURIES, IT MUST WORK!" is very poor logic. After all, we used bloodletting for hundreds of years, but I don't see anybody encouraging anyone to use that. If you want to prove something is worth using then show us sited, researched cases that it has worked. Show us the medical science behind how it has worked, after all that's what we did with Tylenol and it's why we know that it will dull pain and potentially harm the liver.

Second, we're not talking about benign cultural difference. We're talking about how people address serious medical issues, and if a cultures' medical methods don't work, then it's basically killing people with inaction. Or worse, killing with toxins. That's a problem.

Except that he wasn't doing acupuncture to cure cancer, he was getting it to stave off pain.
