I actually totally understand this. I like to read, but very often I find myself getting distracted and losing interest in books and just can't keep myself focused enough to ever finish what I pick up, and I often think that it's because I have such an active imagination. I'll start reading something and slowly my mind starts to wander and I start thinking about my own stories and ideas and other things and before long I've put down my book in favor of my own imagination.

Reading is great, but there's lots of other hobbies out there. No biggie if it's not your thing, and I don't think it's really and that unusual, or something to be ashamed of.
