Re: b/c chemo is roses and daises, rite?

My mom was diagnosed with grade III astrocytoma about a year ago. There is no cure, but chemo and radiation can extend your lifespan, which after a lot of consideration, my mom decided to go for.

All the chemo and radiation did was make her sick, causing her to be horribly ill for the few short months we had with her before the cancer took over and she stopped being herself and forgot how to swallow food. Her doctor told us she'd live for 3-5 years with chemo and radiation. She died less than 6 months after treatment.

Before my mom got sick, I would have definitely opted for chemo or radiation to extend my life if I had cancer that was terminal - I was all for my mom getting it when the offer was presented. Now, I'm pretty sure I wouldn't.

I wanted to send my parents on vacation after the treatment, but by the time the effects of the chemo and radiation had worn off, my mom's cancer was so advanced that she couldn't walk properly or understand language.
