... You really need to watch the show, or at least wiki this character before you spend time angsting about if you're the same as her. She's the bad guy for good reasons. None of them being that she lost her mind. In fact, she was scariest when she was in complete control.

Azula is a baddie because she was raised by her father, who is also evil, and raised to be that way, where Zuko (her brother) was raised by his Uncle and mom, and they are way more peaceful.

A lot of people in posts say different parts of the same story, but Azula gets her character development in Season 3.

Like another poster said, Azula is a character who is a product of her environment. You're a real human being.

B!S because for a split second I thought Azula and ATLA were real >/////<;;

But you can't really blame everything on Ozai, can you? He didn't control her every thought and spoken word. She had her own mind and used it accordingly.

If she had half the conscience Zuko had, she would've realized, at some point, that her actions were wrong. And whether or not she elected to act against her father and her nation, we would've seen some sort of internalized conflict going on. A moment where she realized this is wrong and I don't know if I can do this anymore. Never happened.

While Ozai definitely molded Azula in his own image, she's still her own person, more than capable of independent thought. She's highly intelligent. Ozai didn't control every waking thought and action.

Thanks :-) That's interesting to think about, how much she's been led astray by the wrong people, and how much are disastrous decisions she has made for herself.

I have the sneaking suspicion that when I watch this show, she will probably become one of my favorite characters too, or I will at least have great sympathy for her.
