Hm, I agree that it's unlikely you're as 'evil' as her since you probably didn't try to take over the world or literally kill your family.

But I have had family that were so disturbingly hurtful and hateful that everyone abandoned them. Family members who were so out of control with their manipulative schemes and the way they ruined other peoples' lives to the point of causing nervous attacks.

So maybe you aren't crazy or a sociopath, but ask yourself, did I hurt anyone? Why did they leave me? It's easy to say you don't fit into a label, but the majority speaks: you did something. Hope you figure it out and are able to reach out to the people who left you. And I hope you guys patch it up.

I do ask myself that a lot actually, whose "fault" or "responsibility" it was. I think on my slide down some hurt me completely unexpectedly, and in my fear and rage I also alienated others.

And I agree with you about family: mine has a history of mental disorders and dysfunction, mostly undiagnosed and un-talked-about, or my own episodes would have been recognized much earlier on. Some of the older generation haven't talked to each other in decades. It's difficult for me to figure out the root causes, so on my better days I guess I try to hold back on pointing fingers in general.

But thank you, and I am certainly working on figuring things and reaching out, even if it goes slowly :-)
