Everyone else here - so right. If you enjoy something? That makes you a fan.

And if you want to learn more? Go for it! Have fun with it! There are trades available everywhere, little cons with people selling back issues... Personally, I've really enjoyed James Robinson's recent work on Superman. I've also really enjoyed Morrison's run on the JLA, back in the 90s, and Obsidian Age (also JLA, same numbering system, printed in something like '97? '98?). None of these are really specifically Clark-centric, but they're fun.

It's really not that complicated -- though the movie did condense the first half of the relatively long story told in the comics. It's pretty much a commentary on the use and abuse of power. Fairly straightforward, although it did take the roundabout method of artificially induced superpowers in a dystopian city to get there.
