Well, I agree with that. RPing is acting, and I've been known to cry when one of my characters was upset by something, so I know what getting too into a role is like. But it's just a little strange to think, for example, you're talking to your friend when to her you're talking to the 10 people living in her head at once, instead.

Well, I think saying that would be taking it too far... For me, I'm one of those "muse-in-my-head" people. They're ideas and strong characterizations, but not aspects of my personality or manifested personalities. Sure, sometimes the characters I play chime in on my conversations, or want to be written/played, but that's it. If the person is saying they're actually a manifestation of the character, that's another thing entirely. For me, it's acting, it's a role, and knowing the characterization as intimately as I try to do makes them come across very strongly. Does that make sense? I'm not trying to negate you or anything, please don't think that, I'm just sharing my experience. I highly doubt that many of your friends really think they have characters living in their heads. It's just a figure of speech, probably. ^^

That makes sense! No, I mean, I'm like that too with my muses, so I completely get what you're saying. And I'm 98% sure my friends aren't entirely serious when they're talking about the characters in their heads, but all the same, it's a little off-putting. It's not something that I feel seriously annoyed by, it's just a tiny thing that makes the situation awkward at times.

I can see how it would be, but as long as they don't mean it that way, it's hopefully pretty harmless. And obviously not bad enough to make you stop playing with them. <3

I think it can be difficult, too, to hold muses so strongly, to have researched them or thought them out to the point where you DO become emotionally invested in things on occasion. It's probably bad and I probably shouldn't do it, but I can't help it sometimes.
