It's perfectly normal (as long as you recognise that the voice is from yourself, not an external force); but it's also normal that your bf would say it was weird, since some people naturally think in a more vocal/auditory sort of way and others think in a more visual way. It's also not very weird (or edgy/cool if that's what you were going for) to think in the voice of a character :T
