But then by that reasoning teens shouldn't be talking to people in their 20s because they too are different age groups. From the impression I got, I think you have issues with people who like the same stuff as you but are older, and you believe the things you like to be young person likes, rather than old person likes.

20s isn't that different.

it's not about likes; i already said that it's fine if they're still in fandom. it's that we come from radically different generations, and i just can't talk to old people as openly as i can with people my age, or at the same length. or maybe i can have some nice conversations, but i'm not about to go to a con with them or sleep over at their house. it's just awkward.
