Even after getting involved in the fandom, you haven't stopped making backhanded comments about the things that I do and the way the fandom behaves. And you know, that fandom was the only support that I had while you were being shady and my life went to hell, and during that time I figured out some things about our relationship that I am just not ready to let go or talk to you about. I do love fangirling with you - you've been my favorite person all of my life, you know? And I'm so, so glad that the fandom's helped you learn things about yourself and about creativity, I really am. That's wonderful.
I lashed out, okay? You had just given me the worst week of my life and every time you said that you were like you-know-who or that our relationship was like you-know-whose, I just wanted to scream, because I in no way wanted to connect the fandom to what was happening. Fandom is supposed to be an escape, not entrenched in all the horrible shit that's been happening the past two years. And you were connecting those at a time when I just Could Not Deal.
I had no right to say that to you, and I'm sorry. Do whatever you want. I still don't think I'm ready to talk to you, though, but I'm sure we'll talk more about that later and this is already too personal and tl;dr.
