Jesus, we're all writing about fictional men getting it on with other fictional men. Is there a difference? Because I really don't see any save for the fact that the boys aren't played by actors, for all the occasional self-righteous OMG-WE'RE-SOOOO-MUCH-MORE-MATURE slasher insists that they're there and like, so glaring. I'd rather be seen as a crazy fangirl than a superior ass, thanks. Though I'm just a braindead yaoi fan, so what do I know?

There's immature fans of both of 'em, it's not like just because you're not into anime pairings you're this magical being that's transcended Those Crazy Fangirls.

Really, every fandom out there has its share of idiots. It's not like immaturity or wank is unknown (or even as if it's particularly hard to find) outside of anime and manga fandoms. The whole thing about slash fans being more mature wouldn't bug me to the extent it does if only there was the smallest iota of truth in it, but there isn't. And it's so patronizing. I'm getting very tired of the assumption that anime is something only the immature can enjoy and must be grown out of, and the fandoms must suck by default because of all the teenagers in them. (And I'm 24.)

Besides, like I said, it's all just boyporn with fictional guys anyway. I highly doubt any outsider could spot the difference between a crazy yaoi fan and a crazy slash fan: they'd think we were all just as batshit as each other.
