12: Yaoi and slash are the same thing. Different words for different cultures, e.g. yaoi is Japanese source and slash is American source, but there's no reason either can't be as realistic (or unrealistic) as the writer wants. It's about good writing, not about your cultural approach or your name.

Also, your bashing of "creepy otaku" makes me laugh. Um, unless you're the kind of fan who doesn't write fanfiction, doesn't do fanart, doesn't participate in "the fandom" at all aside from watching/reading/playing ONCE and moving on to something else, "normal society" views YOU as a creepy otaku just as much as it does me. Pot, meet kettle or "normal fan" meet "crazy otaku".
