Aha, sounds like me!

I felt so embarassed by the portrayal of Arabs in Black Jack 21 despite loving the stuffing out of that series.

It didn't diminish my enjoyment of the overall series, but I could've done without that... it's kind of funny, since the anime avoids the more exaggerated black character designs that the manga sometimes had (due to Tezuka being inspired by black and white American cartoons of his era), but brought those plane hijackin terrorists in, however sympathetic their cause might have been...

Who said I'm American? There's hardly a place in the world where Arab terrorists have a positive image, why do you think that is? Plus, it's very nice of you to think that all would be good and peachy if countries like the US would stop "messing with other countries' politics and internal affairs," but really, that's not the case. Maybe the plane hijacking and blowing things up in the US and Europe would stop, but they'd still be doing horrible things in their own countries. Go read up on the state of human rights in the middle east. UAE's economy relies on slavery (or, you know, cheap-to-the-point-of-ridiculousness labor from south and southeast Asia, which is basically the same thing), gay people are prosecuted like nobody's business, women have next to no rights, political prisoners are tortured and killed all over the place... and you know what? None of it has anything to do with America. It's been like since before Columbus even got there.

So, no, the US not bothering about other countries' politics and internal affairs wouldn't stop anyone being hardliner terrorists. They'd just do it where nobody cares, to people nobody cares about. (Oh, see? I can distinguish between people! I don't think all Arabs are the same! I also don't think all people from the middle east are Arabs. It's funny how you're the one generalizing here. I don't believe every American is an imperialist. Neither do I believe American imperialism is the sole cause of terrorism. What I was trying to point out was how ridiculous it was for the previous anon to assume the cause of bad Arab portrayal in the media was because a handful of them blew up buildings and acted as terrorists. Yeah, their whole race is to blame for the actions of a few, just like all of America is to blame for the actions of CIA.

Seriously, I thought the sarcasm and real meaning would come through. I don't know who's the fail here, me or all of the above.
