I realize that you most likely declined to state what minority you are for a good reason, but I'm curious to know what it is. I know it's not your job to teach any of us what is appropriate and what is offensive, but at least knowing which minority you're referring to would be nice, at least then I could go out and educate myself and find out what media representations are troublesome and how to Not Do It Wrong.

Just telling other people to "not even bother" writing characters of your particular minority is not pro-active, and like dethtoll pointed out, you don't speak for an entire group of people.

am not American, and am hardly represented in American media at all. I am more unhappy at the representations in my country's media, which you probably do not partake of, as it is not in English.
I am a small religious minority, but I do not wish to disclose more.

Secret was written in first person, as I am speaking my own feelings. I did not imply I was speaking for anybody else. Until my minority has a representation in the creators of media, I do not think this will change much.
