Yeah, really. The way my AS alienated me from my peers all my life? When I finally realized what was going on I became depressed and finally suicidal almost a year later.

Yeah, it can cause logical/obsessive thinking and above-average intellegence and whatnot. So can being a shy person. The difference is that you can make shyness go away with experience - AS never goes away, even if we try our hardest to be normal. We'll always go back to the basic soltary "comfort zone" from time to time even if we can handle ourselves just fine in a social situation.

Sorry for the rant, but, yeah.
