Yeah, I thought Mercedes did okay, and considering "sweet transvestite" is a neutral song (as in, can be done by both male and female), I thought it was an interesting interpretation.

Eh, I can understand his (or rather, his parents) reasoning. A midwestern high school isn't really the place I'd want to see Rocky Horror to begin with (I'm sorry, but Mr. Shue is bitching Britney Spears is too risque, but Rocky Horror is a-okay? What?), but since they are, there will be parents who are like, "Not my kid..." so that was actually one of the more believable aspects of it.

Well remember, Schue didn't even really know anything about Rocky Horror and only had the kids do it to get in good with 'his' girl. He wouldn't have gotten anything like that out of letting the kids do Britney.

Not arguing that RH is less risque, just that in its case he was doing it for purely selfish reasons - he even admitted so when he found out a couple of kids were embarrassed, in fact.

Given the situation Mercedes did a good job.

But I wanted to see Stamos tbh
It's not like Glee isn't inappropiate to the max already so it can't hurt. Mike would have been interesting too I guess.

I wanted Stamos to play Frank 'n Further sfm. Oh well, Mercedes did much better than I expected.

WORD. I can't believe they dangled that in front of us and then snatched it away. That was the cruelest thing ever.

I liked Mercedes' job on it. She killed it just like I knew she would. And, hey, FINALLY she sings a solo that's not stereotypically expected to be sung by a big, black girl. Glee could do with being more versatile on her song choices.

I'm sure Mike would have had fun with it too but he is more of a dancer than a singer, so I'm not sure if he could have done the job as well. Though I'm sure he'd look pretty good in the garb but still....

I have to agree that Mercedes did a great job and was actually allowed to step out of her usual "role" a bit. What sucks about that is that it came at the expense of some trans awareness, and that makes all the people who didn't like the way the ep turned out sound like Mercedes haters. The fact that there isn't that much love for Mercedes just compounds the matter.

I still pissed he was played by a GIRL.

Also, yeah, I thought Mercedes was fine (as in okay) I just wish they hadn't given her that dominatrix outfit, it was gross and she couldn't even dance in it, it was so tight and stiff :(

Mercedes did ok, but Mike would have been amazing.

I think she did a good job.

Though I kinda want to see him do it too. I want both damnit, lol.

As much as I like Mercedes, I felt she butchered the role. Mike would have been interesting.

I'm not going to touch the Mercedes part of this secret but I was totally disappointed that they dangled the idea in front of us only to snatch it away to quickly. Mike as Frank would've been so freaking awesome!

On one hand, I thought Mercedes did a pretty good job under the (heavily bowdlerized) circumstances. On the other hand, unf, Mike Chang in a corset and fishnets.

Mike who doesn't/can't sing? As Frank?

but yeah, I really really wanted to see Mike be Frank too.

Mercedes playing Frank was one of the few Glee moments when I couldn't bear to watch/listen. It didn't do RHPS justice at all.
