Sheezy, people, calm down.

I guess I was playing fast and loose with 'practically canon'. Sorry about that. What I meant was that there was evidence, if one chose to see it that way, for them being together. Or at least moreso than some other pairings. It's easier to make a case for them than, say, Sniper/Spy.

In any case, it's still a grossly underappreciated pairing.

The end of the WAR comic kind of sunk the (friend)ship in an official sense though, with them going back to being enemies and killing each other and whatnot, plus there's the canonically being on opposing teams thing. (Not that this means anything, all fanfic is people making stuff up anyway, right)

But grossly under-appreciated, I'll agree with you there.

Well, not harping on the "canon" issue, I'll say that at least Sturgeon's Law doesn't apply as much to Soldier/Demo as it does to the more popular ships like Scout/anyone and Sniper/Spy. If you find Soldier/Demo, it's usually pretty good.

Granted, I prefer them as an epic bromance, because their bromance just is that ridiculously epic and heartwarming. I can see them living as bachelor Heterosexual Life Partners in some Scottish castle Tarvish bought with their earnings.

I think that Demo crying about his broken heart is what gave me an excuse to ship em (not that I didn't before) but calling anything in TF2 practically canon was kiiinda a silly thing to do tho. I'm surprised at how worked up people got about it though, Geez Louise.

I'm pretty sure the reason the pairing gets so little attention is the same reason there is probably more fanart and fanfic about Spies with fucking tentacles than Demoman. People are either too worried about being seen as racist for depicting Scots incorrectly, or they dismiss him instantly for being Scottish. It's a sad world we live in.
