I don't have a problem with slash or Mpreg, but I also don't see them as entwined subjects. Each can exist perfectly fine without the other, so it doesn't seem hugely hypocritical to me for someone to like one and loathe the other.

And by "exist perfectly," of course I mean in the world of fiction when it comes to mpreg -- especially mpreg that's a result of slash.

I've heard some excuses, like 'just because I write about it doesn't mean I think it's moral, you can write about all kinds of things you don't believe!'. Which is bullshit because no matter what, at the end of the day you're still a homophobe.

Also, the more I see Sims pictures, the more I miss playing :(

Usually we only hear about people who are all LOLRapeFicIsMyFave but I don't condone rape irl! But the other way applies, too. You get homophobes who love slash. But while they love it in fic, they don't irl. It's their version of rapefic.

Of course, this doesn't excuse their RL bigotry.

Even if a normal mpreg - where a man knocked up another man, it still could be work - as it dodges on of the problems some religions might have with same sex relationships. And that is the sex might result in a baby. And for some religious types the reason to have sex is try to procreate.

In sort, it is possible for someone to have a problem with M/M in real life, but if they can find a way to make it more like unprotected M/F sex (where one of the party can get pregnant) in fiction, then they would havn't as much of a problem.

Because assuming that anyone that is anti-slash based on religious reasons is a hate-filled homophobe and judging them for it will most definitely change their minds and win them over to your point of view. Also, it will most definitely help solve the problem.

You know what the real problem is? We got too many people judging others because they happen to hold a view they don't like. So, instead of people trying to, I don't know, understand one another and why they hold their views, we have people stereotyping, judging, hating one another, and calling each other names.

This isn't going to solve anything. The most it's going to do is create more strife.

Believe it or not, people that are anti-slash for religious reasons are not all hateful bigots nor homophobic. If this doesn't make sense to you, perhaps you'd do well to look into it some more and try and understand it instead of simply judging them for it.

Yes, some people who are anti-slash for religious reasons are hateful and intolerant and that's rather unfortunate. They give those who aren't a very bad name. And, sadly, it's these hateful ones that seem to be more vocal so, of course, they become the stereotype. But please understand that just because someone is anti-slash for religious reasons doesn't mean they hate gays.
