He said some very unfortunate things about women, mocking included, and used the n word. Those were misogynist and racist things to say. If you look down his twitter, you'll see proof.

It's not trolling, some people are genuinely unhappy about some things that have been going on. Like the fucking "ladyboy" situation.

Some people find it offensive. Even if you don't, others do and it's their right to feel that way.

I don't follow any of MCR on Twitter. Just asking for the reasons behind the secret.

I'm assuming that comparing killing turkeys to the holocaust was the last straw for OP.

Completely irrelevant... But I would have thought a few days before Thanksgiving would be worst... Surely if you're a living turkey on Thanksgiving you've got something to be thankful for?

I would think so too. Unless you live on a farm and will actually kill a turkey in the morning just to eat it.

I actually have no idea.... Is that possible? Don't turkeys take forever to cook?

(To be fair, I'm a British vegetarian... have absolutely no idea how you would go about cooking a turkey for thanksgiving or any other day XD)

"ladyboy" situation? i'd heard something about this before but i still don't know what actually went down. mind telling me the story behind it?

When they were looking for people for ... album art or first video, not sure, the agency they hired out out an add looking for a "ladyboy." I didn't really blame this on MCR because in America ladyboy isn't generally considered offensive and I figured ok, it's the agency. But then none of them ever commented on it so it was a bit strange, and of course the fandom (always so loud about gay rights) had nothing to say about it.

And then the first interviews started and even though the guy already has a ridiculous "name" - Show Pony - MCR continued calling him ladyboy. Even when it was pointed out that it's offensive to some people, and when Gerard said there was no need to call him that since Show Pony was his name-o.
I think I last saw it mentioned on Ray's twitter, but I'm not sure and am too lazy to check, sorry :/

So really nothing went down and there was nothing to hear because majority think it's perfectly ok and are refusing to even think about it.

ah, thank you. tbh i'm not surprised. fandom in general has a very depressing amount of transphobia, even the ones that are vocal about gay rights. of course, that's just my personal experience and it won't be everyone's, but still... :/

I'm cis and I kinda tuck myself into safe corners so don't really see it (in fandom) until something like this happens. It sucks :(

oh shit. i was really happy when gerard addressed the show pony / lady boy thing, because it seemed like that was a mistake, that he understood what was wrong with the term when someone pointed it out and that he genuinely was sorry for it. i don't expect people to be perfect, but i expect people to not act like assholes when called out on their shit. so i thought that was really great.

what i did not realize is that they just went on calling him ladyboy. i mean... whhhyyyy. i don't expect the fandom to care because mcr fandom in general doesn't care about anything unless their leaders tell them to, but i am disappointed that the band just went on with that. :(

MCR has not being calling him Ladyboy after Gerard addressed it on twitter.

I hope they are done with it now, I mean, it's possible all those interviews were done before some point and they will from now on just use his name.

In my part of the MCR fandon I saw a lot of angry posts/tweets/emails about the use of lady boy.

I'm glad. The places I visited (outside my flist) most people thought it was fun or didn't care at all.

Do you remember any specific examples of unfortunate things he's said about women? I always hear people talking about it vaguely but I can never get any examples out of anyone.
