You know, I actually get when you're coming from. Thanks to some dicky classmates, at the age of twelve I stumbled upon Sailor Moon porn sites and fanfictions where Darien/Mamoru was a rapist bastard, child-abusing... or that Serena/Usagi was a nympho, and me being the naive little kid I was I believed these were canon. Hence severe trauma and disgust with sex.

I grew out of it in the way that I don't think sex is disgusting. At all. However, over the top kinky things do bother me quite a bit... they make me feel depressed and as though everything is meaningless. Childhood experiences coupled with a multiple other scarring events in my wee little childhood... I'm honestly scared for myself.

But everyone who loves their porn is going to jump on the slightest insinuation that you don't enjoy watching characters bastardized with stuff you're uncomfortable with.

That doesn't mean I can't stumble upon them; and the very idea depresses me. As someone with a bazillion ideas running through my head, I take ideas very literally.

Don't get me wrong, people can write and enjoy whatever they want, hell I have my own weird tastes --but i can't help it if some things make me feel sick.

I actually find it funny how people who proclaim the total freedom of kink get so uncomfortable once they realize their kink is not enjoyable to everyone... what did they believe it was?

And I know what you mean, that's the kind of thing I totally hate. When they take a loving couple from the canon, and make one into a rapist, for example.

Fandom is largely a place where people can bend canon to fulfill their fantasies. Not everyone is going to approach fandom the same way you do. Some people prefer canon-closeness and others come to fandom to depart from the canon. People don't get uncomfortable because their kinks aren't enjoyable to others--it's when others try to shame them or try to make them feel bad for their kinks and fantasies that they get uncomfortable.
