But.
No, I really don't think they're good. Or at least, they are not Disney good, and certainly not what I expect from the man who gave us so many classic songs. The lyrics are fine. Not always inspired, but still pretty fun and catchy (in "Mother Knows Best" the dressing down sounds so much like my mom every time she sees my sister that it's eerie). But the music itself...it's crap. It's catchy, but it's catchy because I SWEAR TO CHEESE AND BISCUITS, I have heard "I've Got a Dream" before, only I think it was a doofy, bluegrass parody at the time. It feels like a copy-pasta tune.
The instrumental music was good stuff, mostly. But much as I can't stop singing the first three songs (I couldn't remember the lyrics or tune to the love song if you put a gun to my head), they are definitely missing something.
And yes PatF had better music. Jazz Age New Orleans required some upbeat, swingin' numbers, a little zydeco, some good stuff all around. It's music that made me feel at home and brought me up when I was down. All of it good stuff.
