My rule of thumb with anime (and most other things) is that I don't mention it unless whoever I'm talking to mentions it first. I'm with you on this one, OP - anime fans have a really unpleasant stereotype that goes along with them, and I'd rather not have people make that sort of assumption about me either.

Of course that doesn't stop me from enjoying it

Oh no! But what if the other person has the same rule? You will never know you have an anime thing in common among the other things. You could have bonded over not being raging stereotypes. TRAGIC MISSED CONNECTION D:


Actually I do the same thing. Then again, I don't wear most of my interests on my sleeves because I'm scared of boring them. Whoops.
