It's funny how people don't get Vocaloid shipping. Are you guys lost without some canon back story? They're voices with a character design. People put a story and personality to them. Not that hard.

My question is doesn't a lack of canon inspire lots of BAWWWW if Person A interprets a Vocaloid's character differently from Person B? I swear I'm not trying to be trolly, I've just run into too much stupidity from people in the past working WITH a canon back story.

Which to be honest is why I usually just skirt around fandoms instead of getting directly involved. BUT now I have to admit I'm a little intrigued by the whole Vocaloid thing here. Suggestions on seeking stuff out?

Oh, are you asking for videos or comms? :D I'm not really involved in fandom, aside from following vocaloid music rankings.

Believe me, there is a huge range of songs with every type of "canon" there is, ranging where Rin is adorable, a brat, psychotic (Fear Garden omg), related to Len, not related to Len, etc, etc.

I loved Hachi-hachi Flowery Battle of Kagamines (that's how I more or less discovered 'em). I have to say the songs that are sort of Japanese-flavored like that appeal to me, as well as the ones that seem to have creepy and/or supernatural horror themes. Hopefully that makes some sense. orz

I ship personalities instead of hotness. So if I have to create the personalities entirely myself, then I might as well ship my original characters instead of Miku and Kaito. I can understand shipping them in the context of a song, where you've been given a canon, but when you ship it in general, you're just shipping OCs. And while I'm sure lots of people ship their OCs, when I'm shipping, I prefer to go with the original characters. Does that make sense?
