I don't really get the whole fandom in general because these characters are such blank slates. All for the pretty, I guess?

I remember watching this video in an anime club meeting where a bunch of people on a street were interviewed about Vocaloids. One European lady said it's very interesting, but Miku's voice was unnaturally high. Cue, "WHAT NO, IDIOT" from a few people in the meeting.

It's not all for the pretty really, it's because they can be whatever you want them to be. You can have as simple or complicated a headcanon as you want. I like to think of them as one big happy pop-idol family~
