20. I still don't understand why people do that. Not only are they trying to get it to the screen, they're also trying to market it to NON-comics fans. And that takes a lot in itself, let alone trying to keep it close to the original idea.

You can tl;dr me any day, and I'll read it. ♥

I guess that they don't get that movies are usually directed at a wider audience than the comic/book/whatever fans. If you're going to make a movie, you'll want it to appeal to as much people as possible, which sometimes means you have to tweak the canon, change the characters a bit, add different themes, etc. and still make it recognizable to the faithful fans of the original version. There needs to be something for everybody.

I don't know much about the comics because superheroes really aren't my thing, but from what I can tell it's actually a fairly good adaption compared to some movies. There are lots of worse ones out there that people could be whining about instead, but they choose Spiderman because it's the most popular.

Were people this upset over the cartoon when it came out? Because I remember watching it as a six-year-old every night before I went to sleep, and "abysmal" doesn't even begin to describe how bad that show was. Dx Much, much worse than anything the movies have dished out so far.
