I can understand this for a number of reasons, at least from how I am about things. If I'm dealing with something (books, games, comics, whatever) that plays with history, I'm usually interested in later going and looking up the "real" history behind it. I mean hell, I never knew about the whole France wanting to merge with England thing (http://networkeurope.radio.cz/feature/french-premiere-proposed-merger-with-england-in-1956) until that friggin' episode.
I figure anything that makes you want to learn is a GOOD THING. But maybe it's just me.
