I had a strong love of history before Hetalia, and I wanted to major in History and Teach it. High School classes were a breeze for me since all you had to do was memorize facts. But once I got into college history classes, things got tough. It was less of memorizing facts and more of analyzing and describing events and their significance to the modern world. Most of my classes involved writing elaborate essays and essay tests, which isn't my stronghold, especially with the topic manner.
I wasted a good two years in college trying to get myself into the new style of history classes and I failed miserably. I could say that High School didn't do a good job of preparing me, but then again, I realized that this major just wasn't for me.
That's not to say you shouldn't try, Anon. But really really look into it, it could save you a lot of money in college courses... trust me.
