It's not so much that her tone is elitist as it is really snide and condescending to fans who don't interpret the text from her perspective (her really subtle hate-on for "yaoi" kind of squicks me ever since she revealed that she was a devout Christian in one episode but YYMV*). Don't get me wrong, I like her reviews a lot. She's really quite good, especially at weighing the practical and technical aspects of the plot. More than being amusing, I find that her reviews are actually useful.

Except her Evangelion review which was a big bucket of her really missing the entire point of the series, but Eva is really something you either get or you don't and I do believe that she more or less stated that her opinion on it was going to be pretty subjective from the get go. But still, seriously, she completely misinterpreted the core conceit of the series and then claimed that the series was inherently worthless because of this incorrect assumption.

* Not that I believe Christianity and "gay" to be diametrically opposed. There are lots of Christian GLBT folks and lots of Christians who like slash/yaoi/queer media whether fandom related or not. Just something about the combination of the way she briefly talked about her faith and the very ire-filled dismissal she has towards slash fandom pings me in all the wrong ways, I dunno. I worded this so dumb, but I hope people get what I mean. :P

She is far, far, FAR from being a moron. She is actually very articulate and insightful so I have no idea what this anon is even on about.

I remeber one thread in her forum where she basically said "There is no romance between Utena and Anthy because I say so".

Ugggh, are you kidding me? I get that sometimes fans get really uptight about Utena being referred to as the "series with Lesbians" since Anthy/Utena is not actually canon in the TV series, but the goddamn subtext is intentional. Also, the movie.

Although isn't there a bit of divide where the magaka was all "THIS SERIES IS NOT GAY OK" and the director of the anime was all: "THIS SERIES IS REALLY GAY FUCK YEAAAAH." So maybe she's clinging to that. :P ~~Anime was way better anyways who even cares manga canon~~
