Sort of agree- I play plenty of games that have outdated/nonexistent graphics, but there are some that are just flat out too ugly. The image in your secret made me cringe a little.

I'm kind of with you on that one. FF7 is an ugly game even by 1997 standards, though at the time nobody cared because the gap between it and other games at the time wasn't too big.

These days what gets me the most is really poor modeling of people. Bethesda games are notorious for this- I can tolerate the Fallout 3/NV models but Oblivion oh my god get out.

I think poor modeling can be almost entirely made up for by good animation and some decent texturing. Beth games suffer not so much from the actual modeling (although that is godawful too) but from shit animation. I mean, no diagonal running in a AAA next-gen game?! No animation blending!? IK foot placement is pretty standard in AAA games now and they're still unable to do blending, Jesus. I think this is Gamebryo's fault though, not theirs. Let's hope their mysterious new Skyrim engine is better :/

The animation is unbelievably bad, yeah. It's more than likely Gamebryo's fault, yeah- the engine is ancient, and I'm pretty sure the Skyrim engine is going to finally push Beth into the next generation that they've been skirting for the last 5 years.
