If pairings were the only thing that mattered in fandoms, I think a lot of this would have all gone straight to h-e-double-hockey stick ages ago. D:

Unfortunately for some people, they ARE all that matter, so. Go figure.

I personally count on character personalities and how well they go with their designs and environment. :3 ThatmadesenseIhope.

If people want that then they should stick to soap operas or something - pairings are really all that matter in those shows.

It does make sense! That's pretty much what I look for. And especially, I really keep an eye on character interactions. When there is a variety of character relationships [and this ranges from sibling to friends to even enemies] it tends to appeal to me more then if it's only romance, romance and more romance.
