(Anonymous) 2011-01-17 12:20 am (UTC)(link)1) have a fandom journal under a different name and don't attach your real name or personal info to it. That will keep the real life people off your back. Many, many people keep separate fandom and regular journals.
2) Post fandom stuff to the communities rather than linking to your journal. That way you get your audience without forcing them to friend you. You can then take the second step of friends locking it to the community. No one outside the community will even know it exists.
The worst way to deal with it is to pimp things out then make sure people need to friend your journal to see it. In addition to being annoying to community members, it would be easy for RL snoops to simply friend your journal and be mistaken for someone from fandom.
