I did the same thing! Only I ended up writing it down and posting it, I'm actually working on another story for it right now XD. I got worried about losing the idea otherwise. (The writing part not the posting part.) Even if no one else likes it or even reads it I'm having so much fun! It reminded why I used to enjoy writing before I got all wrapped up in trying to write what everyone else wanted and quit for a long time.

Yeah. Yeah, I've got that. Less domestic, though it gets that way eventually. But I have fun writing it down in my head, honing the right bits... I just don't write it down because it's a massive self-insert. Still oodles of fun.

I refer to that kind of thing as headfic. Can't refer to it as drawerfic, because if I don't write it down I can't stuff it in a drawer (or even into a folder on my computer). =D

I have whole little universes for my favourite fandoms and characters in my head--long narratives and mental film strips that I turn to when I need an escape. I'll never write them down, as they're generally too plotless and self-indulgent, but who cares. They make me happy.

It's weird, but they really help me get to sleep. Maybe it's the focusing on one thing? Though sometimes I get irritated that I fall asleep before I can get to the next part of the story. I seem to always make it to the same spot and then zonk out. -.-

Me too, as far as getting to sleep. I mean, it's either that or I'll end up thinking about things that I shouldn't be thinking of when I'm trying to relax enough to sleep.

I don't always start at the same part in the story, so it doesn't matter as much when I fall asleep. ♥

I do the same exact thing. I write fic, but I wouldn't write this fic because it's boring in terms of plot. It's just my OTP being adorable and happy together in the universe in my head.

Often if I feel I have to get it out, I make them into Sims and play out the fantasy in the game. :)
