Ah. See, most of the Libertarians I know ARE for individual rights, given that it's one of the principles of the party. That's why I'm assuming the OP is, as well. Assuming a person doesn't actually follow their own stated party line is an interesting assumption without actually knowing the person, isn't it?

There's a few more than that, but yeah thanks for reminding me why I no longer identify as libertarian (though, in retrospect, I'm not sure I ever really did.)

But you have not met this Libertarian.

I mean, come on. On the one hand, you have Ann Coulter. On the other hand, you have Rudy Guiliani. On the one hand, you have Zell Miller. On the other hand, you have Barak Obama. You have variation in every party, and you have strong opinions within the two main parties. Why should a third party be any different?

People- all people- deserve to be judged on their own merits. And while a political affiliation does give you some idea of what a person believes, their actions and their further words often mean more than a simple classification. Which sounds very after school, yes, but the simplicity and idealisticness of it is still something that I wish the world would remember a lot more often.
