So yeah, clearly false, but there were some suspicious superficial similarities. There's the long period of celibacy followed by the creepy stalking of a high school girl. There's broodiness and watching their stalkee sleep. Buffy couldn't read Angel's mind and Edward couldn't read Bella's mind. They both knocked somebody up when it wasn't supposed to be possible, and both their kids grew up really fast. All the important things are different, but are the things that are the same really that common as vampire tropes?

Irrelevant. Connor would have aged normally if he wasn't taken by Holtz. The Twilight baby aged superfast for no reason at all.

Both spent time trying to only kill "bad guys" when eating people conflicted with their morals/new soul. Both left town for their high school girlfriend's own good (but were totally still in love anyway). Both hung out with a werewolf (but only because high school girlfriend was friends with said werewolf). Both spend quite a lot of time worrying about how they can't have sex with a minor. One of them is far more justified in this worrying than the other. Both girlfriends have super-powers. And... both are super hot, which is apparently a universal trait of vampires in both universes. Cause nobody wants to spend eternity with a bunch of uggos.

Bella had superpowers? In all of the time I've been following the internet super-hate of Twlight and cackeling to myself, i've never heard anything about Bella having superpowers. Ees zis true??? I always thought she was just super-boring.

After she's turned into a vamp, she can do this shield-thing... Can't really remember the details. It just added to her Mary Sue-ness.

It started in the beginning when Edward couldn't read her mind. Bella was innately able to shield herself from vampire powers that affected her mind. (Jane, who is basically able to torture you by making you think you're in pain, couldn't hurt Bella.) When she became a vampire, this was magnified so that she could shield herself and others.
