scientists aren't the sick fucks who lecture others on right & wrong and what moral code others should live their lives by as they fist choirboys and abuse schoolgirls, the hypocrisy of the religious is sickening. To be truly evil you have to be religious. Also science might not have all the answers, but it is all about the search for them. Religion encourages intellectual apathy (presumably to stop people wondering why all the babies in the area look like the local priest) and tries to cover up the truth.

Being sick to the back-teeth of blanket knuckle-dragging "all religious people are evil, sick fucks" doesn't make me a god-botherer - not that it would make me an evil, sick fuck if I were: you shouldn't condemn everyone for the sins of others, just as you shouldn't condemn all atheists as intolerant wankers just because some of them are.

Not being an American, I have no opinion on Baptists whatsoever, except for those Westboro cunts - but I stand by my comment: if we're gonna play the paedophile card, I bet you any money you like that (a) some scientists have been kiddie-fiddlers and (b) paedophilia isn't the sole preserve of the religious. Except the holes in science are stuff they don't know yet, but don't really claim to(unlike, you know, the religions who claim to have the inerrant word of god).

And the pedophile argument is really silly... Seriously? of course there's good and bad people with all kinds of beliefs, but how often do atheists react to child molesters by covering the pedophile's crimes? Not only there's religions who do just THAT, they also find reasons in their holy books to fucking justify it.

Believe me, there have been many scientists who have claimed over the centuries that science already knows everything there is to know about this or that field. And when a study comes up questioning this certainty, there are many scientists who will criticise the study instead of accepting that maybe their knowledge is faulty.

Inversely, there have been many religious people who have openly admitted their ignorance or at least limited knowledge.

And yes, the pedophile argument is silly but did you honestly ask if atheists don't cover pedophiles' crimes just as easily and often as religious people do O.o ? Because wow, if you really live in a place where atheists don't act as disgustingly cowardly as everybody else where pedophilia is concerned, then I want to move there!
