but that's just one publisher's edition. you can still go to every other edition out there and read the text in its unexpurgated glory.

1.) There are like a million different publishers who own various rights to the book, they are not all going to ~give in.~

the statement was not that no one was editing the text. the statement was that while one publisher will be releasing a bowdlerized version, the original text will be preserved by the myriad publishers who will not be doing so. everything is cool, everyone can breathe again.
